Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. How much does a counselling session cost?

FROM 1ST JULY 2023, the hourly fee is $105.00

All counselling sessions must be paid for prior to the session commencing, before the session can begin.

Please make yourself familiar with the Cancellation Policy.

Q2. Are you registered with Medicare and Health Funds?

No, my services are not covered by Medicare nor am I registered with health funds.

You will find my fees are comparable to the out-of-pocket expenses you'll need to pay to see a psychologist.

Also, Medicare only covers part of the cost of a session and it will generally only cover six session per year.

Q3. What if I work during the day? How can I get counselling with you?

ACA Members Logo

Q7. What's your scope of practice?

As a Level 1 Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association, my scope of practice is limited limited to clients with low to moderate needs.

This means that, where appropriate and necessary, client's may need to be referred to other specialists such as psychologists for further diagnosis and treatment if their needs fall outside of my Scope of Practice.

Q8. What's your counselling approach?

A person-centered approach.

You're placed at the center of your counselling experience.

I work with client's to assess the root causes of pain and look forward together in creating a more positive future.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is the main framework I use.

Coming to terms with what's happened on your journey to be a parent doesn't mean you need to be happy about it.

I believe every individual has unique gifts and talents.

So I use a strengths-based approach.

And I'm a big fan of positive psychology.

Q9. Do you have a cancellation policy

Yes, I have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy.

Q10. Can I get counselling if I don't live in Australia?

Yes! But due to insurance limitations, I can provide counselling services worldwide *excluding* USA and Canada.
